For the majority of those with the condition, tennis elbow gets better without any medical treatment, though rest is essential. However, if the condition causes severe and consistent pain, other treatments, including surgery, are recommended.
Tennis elbow repair surgery can be done through open surgery, where an incision is made over the injured tendon, or using an arthroscope, which is a tiny camera on a tube.
