What is the life expectancy of a person with a pacemaker?

A pacemaker does not decrease a patient's life expectancy. Since pacemakers are placed for many reasons, it is impossible to estimate the life expectancy of a patient based on the placement of a pacemaker alone.

Most patients that have pacemaker placed are above the age of 55 and are far more likely to die of natural causes than any issue related to the pacemaker.
