How long does it take to recover from eyelid surgery?

The recovery time for eyelid surgery varies, but most people can resume normal activities within 10 to 14 days, with a full recovery in a few months. For the first several days after the procedure, expect to experience bruising, swelling, and irritation on your eyelids. Your doctor may prescribe a lubricating ointment, cold compress, or pain medication during this time.

As your eyelids heal further, you will be able to resume normal activities; however, you must wear eye protection whenever you are in the sun after eye lift surgery for several months.
